Intensive Care Medicine

Patients after severe emergencies require intensive care after a traumatic brain injury or spinal trauma, after having an intracranial hemorrhage or other life-threatening neurosurgical conditions. Also, we provide postoperative high-dependency care following elective neurosurgical procedures.

The Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at the Innsbruck University Hospitals provides specialized intensive care (level 3) for these patients. The unit is run by a highly specialized team of dedicated neurosurgeons and intensive care nurses and takes care of approximately 600 patients per year.
